Issuance of a passport of a citizen of Georgia abroad

A Georgian citizen residing abroad can obtain a biometric passport in the following ways:

1. Online Service: Biometric passport can be repeatedly issued by means of filling out the online application at https://sda.gov.ge/services/sdapage-002/.

2. Through an authorized person: Your representative can visit any territorial office of the Public Service Development Agency or any branch of the Public Service Hall in Georgia, submit a notarized power of attorney, and fill out the application on the spot.

3. Through a diplomatic mission or consular office of Georgia abroad (see instructions below).

The Embassy of Georgia to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan outlines the following requirements for the Issuance of a Georgian Citizen’s Biometric Passport:

1. Nature of the Document

A passport is a document confirming identity and citizenship and is issued to a Citizen of Georgia of any age to travel to Georgia or move abroad.
A biometric passport is a document that, unlike a regular passport, contains an electronic microchip of information on which the personal data of the passport holder are recorded - biometric photograph, signature, and fingerprints.
Validity Period:
- Issued for 10 years for adults.
- Issued for 3 years for minors (under 18 years of age).

2. Submission of Application

Personal appearance at the Embassy of Georgia is mandatory for applicants aged 9 and above.

3. Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents at the Embassy:

Identity Document of the applicant (ID Card and Old Passport);
Color biometric photograph, size 3.5X4.5 cm, taken within the last 6 months, in electronic form;

Consular fee for document is fifty US dollars (USD 50) and must be deposited into the Embassy’s consular account (bank details are provided below). The original payment receipt with a bank stamp is required.
For minors, additional documents are required:
- Birth Certificate.
- For minors, consent from both parents is mandatory (expressed in the presence of a consular official or notarized).
- Identity documents of both parents.

4. Processing Time

It takes up to 45 days from applying for the relevant Embassy to issue a biometric passport.

5. Lost or Stolen Passport

To replace a lost or stolen passport, the holder must immediately report the incident to the local law enforcement agency or authorized body and obtain a written confirmation/police report.
The confirmation must specify the details of the lost/stolen passport.
Presenting this document is mandatory.
If the document is issued in Arabic, it must be translated into English.
Please note: Once a new passport is issued, the lost/stolen passport is permanently canceled, and Interpol is notified in accordance with personal data processing standards.

The Embassy reserves the right to request additional documents or information where necessary for the examination of the application.

Filling Out the Online Application for the Passport:

To apply for consular services at the Embassy of Georgia to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, please follow the instructions below:

1. Access the Official Website

Visit: https://www.geoconsul.gov.ge/en

2. Register for E-Application

Click on “E-APPLICATION REGISTRATION (VISIT PLANNING)”.

3. Create a Personal Space

Select “CREATE PERSONAL SPACE”.

4. Enter Personal Information

Provide your personal details accurately and click "CONFIRM".

5. Indicate Citizenship

Specify your citizenship from the available options – Select a "Citizen of Georgia"

6. Select the Consular Office

Choose: "Embassy of Georgia to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan" and click "NEXT".

7. Choose the Relevant Service

Select “PASSPORT / IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENT” from the list of available services.
Then select “BIOMETRIC PASSPORT”.

8. Schedule Your Visit

Under "VISIT TO THE CONSULATE", choose the preferred date and time for your appointment.
