Requirements for Legalization of Documents
The Embassy of Georgia to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan outlines the following requirements for the legalization of documents:
1. Jurisdiction
- The Embassy is authorized to legalize only documents issued in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Iraq, and the Republic of Lebanon.
- The Embassy of Georgia does not provide legalization services for documents issued in Georgia.
2. Nature of the Document
- Only original documents are eligible for legalization. The Embassy does not legalize copies of documents.
- The document must be issued by an official governmental authority. For example, the Embassy legalizes civil marriage certificates issued by a governmental authority. Religious marriage certificates are not recognized for legalization purposes.
3. Pre-Legalization Requirements
- For Documents Issued in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan: The document must first be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan before submission to the Embassy.
- For Documents Issued in the Republic of Iraq or the Republic of Lebanon: The document must first be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the respective country and subsequently legalized by the Embassy of the respective country accredited in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
4. Translation Requirements
- If the document is issued in Arabic, it must be translated into English. The translation must be duly verified by a licensed notary public.
5. Fees
- The legalization fees, amounting to fifteen US dollars ($15) per document, should be deposited into the Embassy's consular account at Arab Bank in Jordan, with the account number: 0118 276 758 9 511.
The Embassy reserves the right to refuse legalization of any document that does not comply with the above-stated requirements.
The applicant must submit (1) their own original passport, (2) the original document for legalization, and (3) the original payment receipt to the Embassy. Otherwise, the application will not be accepted.
Legalization process requires up to 10 days since Original document and required printed copies reach the Embassy of Georgia in Jordan. Once Legalized, applicant will receive Phone call or e-mail notification from the Embassy to arrance collection.
Filling Out the Online Application for Legalization Services
To apply for legalization services at the Embassy of Georgia to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, please follow the instructions below:
1. Access the Official Website
2. Register for E-Application
- Click on “E-APPLICATION REGISTRATION (VISIT PLANNING)”.
3. Create a Personal Space
- Select “CREATE PERSONAL SPACE”.
4. Enter Personal Information
- Provide your personal details accurately and click CONFIRM.
5. Indicate Citizenship
- Specify your citizenship from the available options.
6. Select the Consular Office
- Choose: Embassy of Georgia to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and click NEXT.
7. Choose the Relevant Service
- Select LEGALIZATION from the list of available services.
8. Schedule Your Visit
- Under VISIT TO THE CONSULATE, choose the preferred date and time for your appointment.
9. Upload Required Documents (Upload clear and legible scanned copies of the following documents):
- Passport:
- Must be issued within the last 10 years.
- The passport shall not be damaged or contain any unofficial records.
- Bank Receipt:
- Proof of payment of the applicable legalization fees.
- Document for Legalization:
- An original scanned copy of the document to be legalized.
- Translation (if applicable):
- If the document is issued in Arabic, a properly authenticated scanned copy of the English translation, verified by a licensed notary, must be submitted.
